Hautvillers

Located in the heart of the Montagne de Reims vineyards, the village of Hautvillers is the birthplace of champagne. It was here, in the former Benedictine abbey of Hautvillers, that the monk and cellarer Dom Pérignon discovered the method of making champagne in the 18th century.
